John T. Behrens

John T. Behrens is Vice President of Pearson Center for Digital Transformation. Prior to that he was Director of Networking Academy Technology Strategy & Learning Systems Development at Cisco where he was responsible for the design and development of the Networking Academy's global on-line instructional offerings which integrate interactive curricular, assessment, and gaming tools with hands-on activities. This work serves more than 1 million students per year in 165 countries. In addition, he oversees strategy and implementation of supporting platform and back-office technologies including learning management, social networking, and business intelligence software. His research interests focus on the intersection of cognitive, statistical, and computing issues related to instruction and assessment in online learning.
Behrens is also an Adjunct Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA). He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and his Master's Degree in Special Education from Arizona State University. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Prior to joining Cisco, he was an Associate Professor of Psychology in Education at Arizona State University.
